Even my Ass is Behind

I‘m seriously never taking any time off ever again. My shoulders are hard as rocks, my jaw is clenched like a vice, my teeth are ground to Chiclets and my stomach is empty and vomitous. You see, I had a deadline today. A deadline of over 5,000 words.

f

I knew about the deadline on Sunday, but had to do laundry.

f

I knew about the deadline on Monday, but wanted to go to dinner with friends instead.

f

I thought about the deadline on Tuesday, but wanted romance time with hubby that evening.

f

I made note of the deadline on Wednesday, but had to do some shopping and clean for Christmas.

f

I laughed at the deadline on Christmas day.

f

I considered the deadline yesterday, but instead decided to read, Lovely Bones.

f

I acknowledged the deadline this morning, but had to go to Target and buy new shoes, costume jewelry and deodorant.

f

I FREAKED THE FUCK OUT about the deadline at 2:00 PM because I only had 10 hours to complete it.

f

I met the deadline around 7.

f

I cried around 7:02.

f

I learned my lesson at 7:03.

f

Change number…25? Don’t procrastinate.

You sound like me! I know I’ve got a deadline well in advance and yet it always seems to surprise me when it’s upon me.

*sighs* Such is the life of a writer, I suppose. ;)

Jen- I am completely depressed after reading that book. It was wonderfully written…but now I am more afraid of death than I was before. Is there a way I can UNread a book?

C, I may try to wrestle the queen title away from you. Although, yesterday was a really good lesson…

Hi JenWhitten, exactly. Don’t miss your True Crime Thursday deadline- I’m looking forward to it :)

Gem- yes, and no boss standing over us to make sure we aren’t playing Solitaire.

    Welcome Wearmanyhats!

I got it all done Buzzirk. I can NOT miss a deadline if I want this to be a full time giggarama :)
