Tales of the latchkey blog

I am so sorry I’ve been away for so long. I meant to post yesterday, but got so wrapped up in Halloween preparations, I didn’t have time.

When I become a full time freelancer, there are some things I will miss about working outside the home. One of those things is Halloween. Halloween is a big deal to the firm I work for. It is a massive event and about half of the 3,500 employees come to work in elaborate costumes. Cubicle groups are transformed into haunted houses, enchanted forests, alternate realities- and no expense is spared.

d

The department I work in is mostly comprised of 24-35 year olds, and most of us love video games. Because we wanted the ability to play Guitar Hero all day at work tomorrow, we decorated our area to look like a trashed hotel room and we are all dressing up like dead (or almost dead) rockers.

I’m dressing up like Amy Winehouse. Well-fed Amy Winehouse (but then, who doesn’t look well-fed next to Amy Winehouse?). I’m going to try to post pics tomorrow (but please don’t hold me to it:))

d

So, I’ve been busy trashing my office, designing it to look like a hotel (we did not really succeed here) and working on my Amy Winehouse costume.

Back to writing and telecommuting- I got approved for Bright Hub, and I think I am really going to like it. I’ll do a full review of them over the weekend.

Oh, and Textbroker…I have finally been able to write some level 5 stuff and the pay is a lot higher than level 4. So if you are level 4 - send them an email to see if you can get bumped up!
