Comitmentphobia is NOT what the cool kids are doing
I spent the whole weekend writing and prospecting. Not only do I feel more exhausted than I did on Friday when I decided to take a blog break, but I also feel more overwhelmed. Do you detect a whine in my voice? A furrow in my brow? Well then my friend, you detect wrong.
Being this overwhelmed and busy is exciting. It’s energizing and amazing. It is a good thing. When you are reaching for a goal, you should let the good stuff that happens during the in-between time motivate you- drive you.
It is difficult. I have less time to spend with my Husband and less energy to play with my kitties. But it is TEMPORARY. I won’t be balancing 2 jobs and school forever. Hubby is awesomely patient, and kitties think running after food is fun, so all I have to do is throw the dry bits across the room and they are thrilled.
I’m committing myself to a deadline. This deadline is the month and year when I should have enough savings to pay health insurance for a year, plus a little padding for emergencies. That is the month I will start full time freelancing.
Here it is, for public consumption: February 2010.
There, now I’m committed to it. What are you committed to?
