Resume’ building part 2- Getting your writing published in just 5 minutes
In my last blog, we discussed the importance of having published work to site on your resume’. My first suggestion for a site that makes it quick and easy to submit your work and get it published is Helium.com . Submitting work to Helium is easy. If you already have written work, all you have to do is sign in to Helium and submit it!
To start, login to Helium.com. At the top of the page, in the red bar, hit the, “Write” button. From there, you can choose the appropriate category for your work. Since your work will be rated against other work in that category, it is important that you choose the most relevant category (also called, “Channel” on Helium). Your earnings will be based on visitors, and the more highly rated your article is- the more visitors you will get.
Another way to make money writing on Helium.com is by writing one of their Marketplace articles. In Marketplace, businesses have solicited certain pieces. The pay ranges from $2 - $80 for this requested content. Keep in mind though- if you write a Marketplace article, you are competing with many other writers, so there is no guarantee that your piece will be chosen by the buyer. You can find, “Marketplace” on the left side of your screen.

Before you submit your work, make sure you have checked your spelling, grammar and voice use. Also, make sure that you do not submit as a wall ‘o text! People paragraphs in order to enjoy your work!
Once you have submitted your work, guess what? You are published!! Yay for you! You now have a legitimate, published piece to put on your resume’ that is also earning you money. Go to Starbucks, get yourself a latte- and start getting used to the title of writer!
* Come back tomorrow and we’ll talk about getting your work highly rated.
